Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is designed to provide you with a safe and supportive environment to explore the complex factors impacting your mental health and wellbeing. The National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH) indicates that nearly one in five individuals are impacted by struggles with mental health each year (2020).
Whether you are navigating symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, addiction, or more, individual counseling can assist you in identifying and breaking down problems into smaller, specific issues that become easier to address.
Individual counseling with a Siv therapist is designed as a partnership where clients are encouraged to identify emotional and behavioral triggers, work through maladaptive patterns, develop new perspectives, and feel empowered to adapt to life’s stressors.

Couples Counseling
Couples counseling is designed to address the stressors in your relationship, whether they are rooted in communication, conflict, intimacy, or deception. Utilizing techniques aimed at identifying negative cycles of interaction, couples counseling directly addresses patterns of avoidance and reactivity and the emotions underlying problematic behaviors.
Once the counselor and couple have established a sound understanding of the obstacles a couple is facing, together they can begin the process of separating out what isn’t working in order to focus on what is and can be.
Through couples counseling with Siv, couples will experience greater emotional awareness and healthier attachment while developing simple strategies to maintain relational wellness.

Adolescent, Emerging Adult, and Family Counseling
Navigating adolescences and young adulthood presents its own unique challenges as this developmental period is highly sensitive to the emergence and evolution of social and emotional needs and experiences. Counseling services are centered around helping pre-teens (10-12), teens (13-16), and emerging adults (18-25) identify ongoing stressors (relationships, trauma, academic, etc.), build awareness of emotions and emotional triggers, and develop strategies for emotion regulation, healthy lifestyle management, and ongoing resiliency. Counselors may involve family members in this process to establish patterns for healthy communication and to build a foundation for sustainable change.
Adolescent, emerging adult, and family counseling services are built on collaboration. Whether engaging an individual family member or the collective family unit, the counseling team at Siv will work with you to establish greater awareness and effective changes strategies for thriving in the present and building a sustainable relational foundation for the future.

Our goal is to make your first visit and the overall process of counseling as seamless as possible. Prior to your first visit, you will receive a link to our practice portal with some brief pre-session paperwork to complete. Your first session will involve a review of informed consent, our practice policies, confidentiality, and what your hopes and goals are for the counseling experience. The first session will include gathering relevant information that will help us begin to understand your unique story. We welcome and encourage any questions you may have before, during, and after the initial session in order for you to feel confident moving forward.

Siv is currently in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and our office will bill for you under these plans. Clients wishing to use a different insurance plan can utilize their out-of-network (OON) benefits. With OON, Siv will collect the full session fee at the time of your appointment and provide you with an itemized superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance for reimbursement.
While we are out-of-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield HMOs, clients may be able to contact their provider directly and negotiate a 50/50 mental health agreement.
Siv is also able to accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) as payment options.

Our counselors are not authorized to prescribe medication. We encourage you to discuss medication options with a psychiatrist who is trained in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health, behavioral, and emotional disorders. We are happy to collaborate with your prescribing provider and will provide a release of information to coordinate care at your request.
